A new quilt along with Fatquartershop and a new jelly roll by Zen Chic - what a great way to sew a new easy quilt.!
The jelly roll of the new Bluish line is blue, of course. It was a bit difficult to decide on the background fabric. I decided on a medium blue and I also had a dark-jeans fabric. Thus I was playing around with the background. The next step was to show it to my quilty friend Andrea and then finally decided on two quilts.
Und wieder gab es einen Quilt Along von Fatquartershop, bei dem ich mitmachen konnte. Dieses Mal ging es um einen schnellen Anfängerquilt: Der Jelly Roll Relish Quilt ist ein perfekter Quilt, um mal schnell etwas fertig zu bekommen.
Bei der Auswahl des Hintergundstoffs war gar nicht einfach. Das ist dann auch der Grund, warum ich mich entschieden habe 2 Quilts zu machen.
A light jeans and a dark jeans! So this time I am really in a Jeans mood!
The pattern of the Jelly Roll Relish is really easy. You take the jelly roll and stripes from the background fabric and sew them together. Well, it is not really that easy because you have to make sure that you have a perfect quarter inch seam to have the perfect squares in the end. But you can do it! And there is a You Tube video for it.
Ein heller Jeans-Quilt und ein dunkler Jeans-Quilt sind das Ergebnis. Beide gefallen mir gut.
Fatquartershop hat zu diesem kostenlosen Muster sogar ein Video gedreht. Da kann beim Nachnähen also nix mehr schief gehen...
I loved the stripe sewing. It was totally relaxing. At some point I layed out the blocks and decided to be really strict about light and darker blues. I wanted to have really tone-on tone quilts. And the jelly roll had enough stripes to allow that.

I suppose the dark quilt could be a quilt for a man and the light one is perfect for a baby shower. But I still have to think about that...
Diese beiden Quilts sind meine absoluten Freizeit-Quilts: der dunkle ist eine wunderbare Picknickdecke und der hellblaue könnte fast etwas für einen kleinen Jungen sein. Damit hätte ich dann schon mal ein Geschenk in Petto!

Hallo Martina, du hast gut daran getan zwei Quilts zu nähen. Aber, da fällt die Wahl schwer, welchen man denn gerade nutzen will. Ich würde mich mit einem zudecken und den anderen in der Nähe lagern, dann sind sowohl haptische als auch optische Freuden gesichert.

Löschenich muss jetzt erst einmal quilten und dann schau ich mal. Sie sind wenn nur für die Terrassenwelt bei mir geeignet. Damit kann ich mir auch mit dem Quilten Zeit lassen...das ist natürlich gefährlich, weil es dann erst einmal liegen bleibt. Aber das neue Jahr bringt sicher auch neue Vorsätze.
